Project Background

The National Ag Science Center is the premier provider of hands-on agricultural science education and career connections. Our Board is always dreaming big! Our original idea to put a science lab in a tractor trailer to providing science teachers with agricultural tours as a part of a professional development program has become a popular reality. The vision includes developing a first-of-its-kind traveling exhibit which will visit science centers all over the country focusing on the science of agriculture.

Looking through the longer term lens, the National Ag Science Center plans to build the nation’s first science center focused on agriculture. A fun, engaging experience, the 65,000 square foot, National Ag Science Center is to be constructed on the Modesto Junior College West Campus under an agreement with the Yosemite Community College District and will be a LEED Green Building. The Center will tell the story of American agriculture in three highly-stylized areas: ag and me, ag and nature and ag and technology.
