Boys & Girls Club

In March 2012 the Boys & Girls Clubs of Stanislaus County was born, providing community-based, safe, and affordable programs during after school and summer hours as an alternative to being home alone or on the streets. They are proud to be chartered through the Boys & Girls Club of America, which has provided the nation’s youth with safe havens staffed by caring adult mentors for more than 100 years.
Their programs provide children a place to learn, play, explore, and build new skills designed to instill in each child a belief in their future success, personal responsibility, and a sense of community outreach. They offer tutoring, as well as programming in the areas of character development and leadership, health and life skills, education/career development, sports and fitness, and the arts all for only $10 per child per year.

Partnership with NASC

An exciting collaboration this year is with Boys & Girls Club of Stanislaus County. The National Ag Science Center has provided B&GC with 12 weeks of ag science curriculum including engaging, hands-on experiences that will help students in this area understand the importance of agriculture, where their food comes from, and what career opportunities in ag look like.

Boys and Girls Club staff are engaged as facilitators now with guidance from the NASC and will begin programming during their summer programs and continue on through the new school year.

Our collaborations help to extend outreach and awareness about ag science into the Stanislaus County area and beyond.
